Agreed. Alas, we will never know, and any conclusions drawn in this thread would only display our own predilections and bias.

 

Nope. I just know even people point the finger in the wrong direction. Companies for the most part aren't put there primarily to "screw the driver". I think a lot of drivers have this image of a company owner sitting in his office counting money and laughing an evil laugh saying "I got driver Bob! I screwed him bad!!!, get back to counting my money!!!"

Certain cases that is true, however to claim any driver is ALWAYS right and the company is ALWAYS wrong, is far more flawed.
Especially when basing that judgement on not knowing all details and facts. An undisputable... Period!

True. However, your apparent bias against the driver was and remains unqualified.

I don't know that many bad owners. Most of them are friends who don't give a rat's queef who is in the truck as long as it's rolling. But I know dozens of those owners' dispatchers who look for ways (via personal vendetta or one shared by their manager) to execute certain drivers as the expendable low rung on the pole. Seen that more often than a driver who gets surprised while on home time.

One could say that is my qualification for bias.
