Ok so they sell forms and stickers at truck stops and think the law states you just have to be a working mechanic to fill out, seriously can you just fill those out yourself?
Half the places like loves usually miss stuff that would fail a dot anyhow
Annual dot form?

this is the regulation on this.. basically your company has to designate you as being qualified to perform maintenance and inspections. and your company has to maintain records on this, to be compliant... i do all my own inspections for my own company as well as all the maintenance... have been roadside inspected, as well as had to show records that my company states i am qualified to perform inspections, during my new entrant audit.. and passed.

Then say we go down the road and say fail a roadside, any penalties for having a passed dot that say didn't pass that would fall back to mechanic friend?D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -

No, a failed roadside won’t come back on whoever does the annual.
I do my own, and I’m my own mechanic. If you go to a shop to have it done, you’ll more than likely get the shop flunky doing it. I trust my inspection more than his.Bean Jr., singlescrewshaker, Vampire and 3 others Thank this.
