No. Why would they? Mechanic shops have never been under vid restrictions. We are essential.

They ended the extension a few months back. The entension for medicals has also expired. Driver license extension still in effect until February.

Wow. I didn't realize Ontario suspended safety inspections. There was no need for that.
My mistake. My quick view of the mto website didn't find that.
There was no free passes in alberta.

 

They suspended a lot of stuff, that one surprised me.

 

How would that work if you were pulled over outside of Ontario and inspected? Would the other provinces recognize the extension or no?

 

And it scares the crap out of me. Lots of Ontario plated units country wide.
It has always bothered me buses are every 6 months, and tractor trailers are once a year. Buses travel less then 20k km in 6 months
Quite easy for tractor trailers to do 100+k km between an inspection...
Especially since some of the inspectors seem to be frauds too.

 

If I'm remembering it right, BC required inspections every 6 months on logging trucks.

 

Extending medicals is even more scary.

 

The medical is kind of a joke to begin with anyways.
