What i like is that we have the "truck route" thru a town, yet cars are on it all the time. I understand the need for that though, business and all are on it. If we (truckers) go on a non truck route we get fined, wtf? The Junction the o/p talks about is dangerous. Just last week, i had a car thread a needle between another truck and myself. The car almost bounced off his icc bumper, cuts me off and tells me i am number one.
A CHP saw that, didnt pull them over, instead pulls over the other driver. He caught up to me at Lebec, i asked what the CHP wanted, he told me "that i was driving recklessly, endangerd the life of the 4 wheeler, and almost caused an accident. He changed his tune when i pointed out this was a TRUCK ROUTE. I asked him if he was gonna do something about the 4wheeler, he told me no way. The 4 wheeler has every right to use those lanes.".
Long story short: The 4 wheelers will do whatever they want, and we have to suffer for their stupidty.Last edited: Mar 25, 2010

Bull sheyat....
Tell you what......Any of you drivers who run the 5...double up when you get to that truck lane....and slow down to 15 mph......
Friggin' 4-wheelers are like sailboat owners.....they can tack right into a powerboat and it's the powerboat operator's fault....... -
-
I have nothing against your proficient sailboat owners...it's the ones who went to the boat show and bought one because they wanted to "Feel the wind in their hair and the spray in their face"....You know the type I'm talking about....

When i picked up my rental in NYC last year, the young lady made an exclamation as to the length of my intended trip.
I explained i was a trucker, which led to the expected comments about those guys in the big rigs thinking they own the road.
I asked a few questions about her driving and the response of the truckers. Then i proceded to explain to her how long it takes one of those rigs to stop, and exactly what it would do to her and her car after she cut in front of it...
judging from the look of amazement on her face, she had no idea.
I like to think that little piece of education helped keep her and others safe.
education + correct attitude = safer motoring.bullhaulerswife and Working Class Patriot Thank this. -
But can you educate the ignorant?
I have confronted 4-wheelers who cut me or other drivers off in rest areas....Basically I was told to mind my own business....
You can't call a trooper because they will tell you that the 4-wheelers have the right-of-way over trucks......and that we are the "professionals"...we're supposed to avoid accidents...... -
It's that dang "professinal" tag again. My opinion is 4 wheelers are NEVER gonna get it. I have confronted a few 4wheelers myself. One of them cut me off at a stop light on Us 60 in Rogersville, MO. I askled him, if he was nuts, or just plain stupid. He told me to ###### off. Nice guy i guess. Ignorant as hell though. -
This is how ignorant some people are....
I was driving down Hwy 9 from Henry Cowell State Park with my pick-up and my fifth-wheel trailer....there are no turn outs all the way down to Hwy 1....About 15 miles....
This idiot starts yelling at me in front of my wife and kids at the intersection of the 9 and the 1 because I didn't pull over...
I asked him where I was supposed to pull over.....No turn outs, no shoulder..... -
A few weeks ago I had a 4 wheeler in back of me who thought it was ok, to leave on his brights.. Well when I turned on the spot light on the cab and aimed it right in his face, those lights came off quickly..
