Alright I used my 8 2 Sleeper Berth exception rule yesterday. Took 2 hour break around 4pm and then my 8 hour Sleeper Berth around 9:30 I guess. Started the next day and it's telling me I've already used nearly three hours of my day starting off. My question is if I take another 2-hour break will it give me that 3 hours back or am I going to have to take another 10-hour break to restart it. I'll actually only be about 2 and 1/2 hours from the house at that point which would really suck. and I guess that be my next question is there anyway I can get back to the house considering I could have made it if it would have gave me my actual 14-hour day. I know adverse conditions will add two hours to your drive time if you have it in your 14 hour day but it doesn't say anything about that 8 2 split decreasing your total hours available. I'm just now figuring out this 8 2 split never had to worry about it before with the paper log.

Taking another 2 hours will give you back the drive time you used before the 8, the hours of driving in adjacent periods must be 11 or less.

It gets funny with adding other breaks and running out of your 14 hour window. The 14 is figured from the end of the previous break and 8 hours sleeper birth is added to that.

In the case you listed if I understood it correctly, the new 14 would be figured from the end of the 8 after taking the 2.

Well I guess I'll find out shortly when I take my two hour break it'll calculated out tell me how much time it's going to give me after that I guess. I don't really know how much drive time I had left before I took the 8-hour Sleeper Berth break.

Not sure what brand you're using, but they weren't all on the same page as the regulations, and what I am using didn't give credit for the 8 or more unless you took the 2 later, I just understood how it works, and did my own figures, just don't exceed by any amount unless you can live with a violation.

We're using Verizon's fleetmatics elog. Connect via Bluetooth through a Samsung tablet. It's not near as stringent as the direct wired ones. It doesn't have PC time on it though but it does have adverse conditions.

The pc option is usually turned on or off by your company.

Right, but they have 2 app versions with 2 supervisor software programs old and new and he has the old version and I'm running the new app which can't be altered with the old PC software my dispatcher/super has. Or he just doesn't know how to do it..

Well I just finished up my 2 hour break and it's not giving me anymore drive time. I have 8.5 hours total drive time today.. yesterday before the 8 sleeper birth I had at least 2 hours of drive time left..?... Don't know what's going on with it.
