Im surprised it’s running the a/c. Please update the performance, including # of batteries CCAs and what size alternator. I’d like to set one up like that, in case my air goes out. I can run it going down the road, w/o running generator. Thanks

Did you cut a big hole in the cab under the window?

I'd like one permanently. I haven't had air in 6-8 years but it would be nice a month or 2 per year.

You order them as a matched set. The parts guy should have known that unless he just thought you would wanted a spare belt.

I’ve seen some pretty cool set ups on utube. My favorite is a window unit mounted outside, on a camper, with home made insulated plenum and ductwork piping air in through a small duct. This homemade version came from an Idea borrowed from the outside a/c units used for show dogs, to keep them cool in their oversized dog houses.

lmao no i definitely didnt use ductape. ill try and post some pictures of how i set it up. i figure the alternator can keep the batteries charged for running it only 4 or 5 hrs a day. or even an hour at a time makes a huge difference. im just not sure if these batteries are considered "deep cycle" but once i get the belts figured out then ill know for sure how it handles. the belts for this alternator and the other pulley have never aligned right though..they have always been a little off but never any issues with belt squeel until about a month ago..so they needed replacing anyways.

worst case scenario..if this inverter setup doesnt work, i still have room to put a generator in between the cab and bed and run that
