One of their contractors did over 40k in damage to my truck in a hit and run and #### near put me out of business. Then amazon refused to cooperate with missouri tracking the dude down. To say i have an axe to grind is an understatment.
Another Amazon contractor that should not have been.

Your not wrong. But thats an unmoderated sandbox discussion because a lot of us have VERY strong opinions and would prefer not to get banned starting a war here

Needless to say there is lots of blame to go around. But for this thread and here. Amazon is a safe target insofar as likely not getting banned.hotrod1653, Star Rider, Kyle G. and 1 other person Thank this. -
I think the bigger issue was he was apparently intoxicated out the wazoo. I can agree, he shouldn't have had a cdl, if you can't go a few hrs without hitting the bottle or whatever, you shouldn't have any sort of license. Idk about you, but I think I could go to Mexico or like France and manage to not hit stuff or plow into stopped traffic on the highway. Like sure, speaking/understanding the language helps to actually do the job and navigate, but these accidents aren't caused by lack of English skills.

No, the big issue is if he wasn't over here taking a job that we never really needed him for in the first place those people he killed would still be alive. I doubt Mexico has a problem with Americans in their trucking industry not respecting the laws, running over people, not speaking Spanish and driving a truck, etc.Mnmover99 Thanks this.

My point is that the money they're saving in using "Temu Brand" truck drivers more than covers their loses - especially when they're avoiding most lawsuits. Amazon has proven time and again that they only care about 1 thing - how profitable they are. Using contractors saves them money.LoneRanger, Numb and hope not dumb twucker Thank this.

Up until approximately Thanksgiving time last year all the Amazon team runs were done by single drivers. Then Amazon started to ask for two different CDLs upon checking in for picking up a load.
90% of Amazon drivers here in Detroit could give a crap about HOS, everyone has editable ELD.
Amazon is extremely popular with drivers who don't speak English, because there is minimum interaction with humans when you go there, everything is done through an app.
There used to be a rule that you had to have a regular drivers license for two years to be able to obtain a CDL. I guess Biden administration has removed that, because an enormous amount of people who came through the southern border got their CDLs after couple of months and started to work at Amazon.
If ICE would do raids at Amazon parking lots, probably half of their "independent contractor" fleet would disappear overnightD.Tibbitt, LoneRanger, Speedy356 and 2 others Thank this. -
That hasn't been a rule since at least 2010 - at least in Wisconsin.

Insurance companies don't give a crap either. Most of them say new company drivers gotta have 2 years experience, yet, they don't check MVRs. So a so called "white Volvo outfit" hires a newly arrived driver, creates a fake MVR that shows that driver has 5 years experience and VIOLA, he is on the road.
Arctic_fox and hope not dumb twucker Thank this. -
Maybe it's not Biden then, but I remember it being a rule

You know he also has mandatory court appearance in wilmer too..he was busted for doing 63 in a 30zone..so obviously lack of English comprehension was a problem because he obviously couldn’t read the speed limit signs as well..D.Tibbitt, Arctic_fox, hope not dumb twucker and 1 other person Thank this.
