Another Carrier Closing

I heard on the CB, they will close their doors at 1400hr CST. That's official !!

 

Yeah, but what day??..

 

It is not true ... The rumor was started by a carrier that tmc got loads from and they plan on taking more loads from that carrier....

 

The rescission has made so many close their doors.

 

You know it would be easier to just repost the previous bankruptcy threads from last year or the year before or the year before that.....in otehr words give me a break. hey i'm all for knowin' whats going on so i don't end up like an arrow guy but where duz this rumor junk come from??? i'm thinking that if i were a recruiter or a sales guy from another trucking company the best thing i could do for myself would be to come on here and post this stuff. ive gotten no message over the satellite or from my fleet manager. my fuel card has always worked, my paychecks have always been there, my road repairs continue to be taken care of, etc, etc, etc....heck, i was in des moines just last week up at the training center and bs'ing with the guys and they were all talking about how they seem to be over the hump now and that things were beginning to trend up. man, most of those guys are ex-drivers and usually are pretty candid with you about whats going on on the inside. even saw an article just the other day that iowa had awarded tmc a huge grant to install apu's on 100 of their trucks for testing. doesnt sound like the kind of stuff youd be doing for a company that's closing their doors.

 

just talked to a recruiter last week there at TMC and was no mention of closing doors, but you couldnt beleive him or a dispatcher evn if they did know the truth

Interesting to see Les2's comments saying that if TMC went under it would be a good thing - not sure of his thoughts there. After seeing the devastation of people's lives when Arrow went under why would a fellow truck driver wish something like that?
I live in Iowa and know some people who drive there including a really good friend.
TMC have been around since 1972, they do trucking right and usually the people you hear complaining are the ones who drive this industry down and would never get a job there or some who used to work there and were sent packing.
We don't need anymore trucking companies going under and my heart goes out to all the Arrow drivers who lost a lot before Christmas.
If TMC are going under, why are they still lining up at truckstops to wash their trucks?
Guys - you need to talk about sensible things that help the industry, not spread stupid rumors.
