It may be but here is the thing, it needs to be ruled out. The best way is to have it checked, once that is done, then look at the radio,

Maybe it wasnt fine before, when you first checked swr was it with the radio? If yes the meter may not of been accurate and the warranty place calibrated the meter to be accurate and that is why now antenna warning light is coming on. There is an adjustment on the board to set antenna warning light, have to agree with Ridgeline, probably best to get it checked with an analyzer to at least rule out antenna.

If you could somehow obtain another radio that you know for sure is in good working order and try it and see what the result is. Sounds like your getting fed up but let us know what the final outcome is, it may help someone else with the same delima.

Not really fed up. I do have a plan though. I'll hook mine up in a coworkers truck to see if I'm getting similar results. I may also put his in mine, though his a a bit more radio than mine. He has himself one of them ridiculously expensive high-end Ranger units. He used to be OTR and has some expensive goodies to show for it.

I thought this cheap $49 radio with a factory tune and stock microphone sounded very good. The radios I hear the furthest are usually not tampered with and if they are tampered with they are all tampered with by the same guy.
Unless you can consistently hear truck drivers 30 miles away at least once or twice a day, you wouldn't be in a position to notice the patterns that I've noticed.
