I’m pretty certain that bridge is 13’10 high right there….. I-295 is the way around those lower bridges on I-95.

I understand some people try to sneak around without permits etc sometimes. I am just wondering, aint these people supposed to have permits with specific routes? What's the starting height for a required permit?

You'll need a permit for height starting at 13'7 The thing is, whether you are going north or south on I95 or east/west on I-64 in VA there is an over height marker if you're over height to take I-295. Its huge flashing yellow lights, it goes off if you're over height as you go by.

I have an annual for VA that allows up to 14 high but, I know not to go over height on 95 through Richmond.
