I don't know what it is about that stretch but it's always congested and having accidents in the same areas......it's not even that hilly or curvy....

Could've used a 3rd lane thru there 20 years ago really all the way from WV line to Harrisburg.

It's a freakin' metropolis. Tons of people, traffic, distribution centers so more trucks, horses and buggies, that #### 55 mph section, all of it!hope not dumb twucker, mjd4277 and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this.

A linehaul driver left our yard and made it about four miles up the road and rolled his set, that is what started that mees. Of course they had haz mat on board.
86scotty, mjd4277 and Trucker61016 Thank this. -
I’m sure the 55 mph speed restriction plays a role. From the Allen Road interchange to the PA Turnpike interchange it creates a bottleneck. Everyone is trying to do 65-70+ mph. What complicates it even further is that if there’s a wreck on that stretch of road, there’s literally only a handful of alternate routes and detours that trucks can take, and the Borough of Carlisle really frowns upon that. They really don’t like trucks going through their slice of heaven!hope not dumb twucker Thanks this.

It's not hard to do 55 mph and leave plenty of space for 8 miles . Most won't do it. And sadly, people have to die.
Trucker61016 Thanks this.
