You could share your answers so that it could help someone in the future if they’re experiencing the same issues as you describe.

What suspension does your truck have? What’s the ride height supposed to be?

    Siinman Thanks this.

Ride height isn’t something you just eyeball until you think it looks good. And that rod from the valve to the axle is the only way to change it. Hopefully shifting the blame onto someone else will work for you. It would suck to end up in court if the shop tells you to pound sand.

What suspension is that one? I'm thinking 8-3/4" is the measurement you want unladen on an AG380 but can't remember 100% for sure. But just like that sticker shows you measure it from the bottom of the frame rail to the centerline of the axle. Also the centerline of the axle is not where the axle tube has bead welded. Don't measure to the center of that weld or it will be off because the rear pinion is angled upwards. Just loosen a couple of bolts, or maybe 3, and clock the level valve to the left or the right whichever way is needed to raise or lower airbags to 8-3/4" then tighten back up. On flat level ground...

My wheel base is stretched.. however stock to answer the haters questions & those who truly want to hear.. the height should be whatever the manufacture designed it to be.. just so you can try lift your level value until it looks like the truck is walking on stilts and then hook up to a load and see what happens.. the effect will not come on immediately however as you are driving in high gear like mines it may happen.. taking turns etc..

When it like this your axles will not flex.. you have limited traction even when bob tail it’s worse..

Believe it or not big trucks are agile and they need all the parameters correct to perform correctly..

I believe that this plays a role with aerodynamics.. I can be wrong

however.. me mentioning to the mechanic that the bags are to high should have let him understand that I have concerns.. he clearly saw I was pulling a special trailer also that was a particular “ height “

and yes when your bags are over inflated you can HIT a bridge !

Being under a time sensitive load is different from having a regular load. You must move breakdowns cannot stop you unless you have no other options.

10 gear was grinding.. not my other gears

so that means I could move the truck..

I don’t like these forums at times.. people don’t comprehend well with what you tell them.. you have to bash them around first and then they want to know what you been through..

If you were taught to be a mechanic that’s one thing. if you are a driver that’s another thing.

However I will like for everyone to relax now.. because there is a language barrier

I shared my experience and people have incorrectly addressed & shared there opinions.. with out fully understanding

For example I say stretched wheel base and some numb nutz believes I altered my truck just so he can say a stupid answer..

To that person.. you are Wrong.. the wheel base is the way the manufacture designed it.. looks bad ### to :)

so ask yourself if your bags are inflated to the point it’s like walking on stilts..

Don’t take a picture to show off sounding dumb.. do the correct motions

hook up to a 30k load and pull it with your bags inflated to the max..

    Ride height blah blah blah

    you sound uhh..

Who did the work?? You answered your own questions.. tell your mechanics that ride height is not something you can eye ball..

I QUOTED YOUR RESPONSE.. WHO DID THE WORK.. me or the shop ???

who is your response for ?? The mechanic or me.. if it’s for the mechanic I apologize truly!

if it’s for me.. ? You know the answer and the motions of a middle finger..

The valve is a Hadley 500 with air dump, the bags are Firestone 8536 or 8537.

pretty universal for trucks unless it is a HD axle setup.
as for the op, me being Einstein doesn’t have the issues he does, I am smart enough to know that if the truck is unsafe to drive and responsible enough as a driver to get it fixed right before it moves off the lot.

if he wants to flip me off, go for it, I’ve been flipped off by famous people a few times which makes this more entertaining and it doesn’t change the fact that all of this time complaining about the answers he is getting, he could have used it to fix the problem,
