But you still need to record the mileage at midnight so you can close the day correctly.

Do what your co. requires u to, if not sure call your Safety dept. One co. I used to lease to had us flag the midnight line "location, Driving at Midnight", prior day and current day. I do that to this day, I think it saves problems with the DOT man, but I've never had an issue. And I agree with Skan above about mileage note.

glad someone else does it this way, I was starting to think I was doing it wrong after reading the prev responses :-o I always think ,, how would elogs log it? Plus, it keeps the daily mileage and everything else all nice'n tidy.

I do about the same thing as well. Note nearest location and miles for the day.
To answer your e-log question, I just checked mine (JJ Keller, mobile). It does it the same way as well. Notes the city and state and calculates miles for the day.
That is not to say that all other e-logs do it that way though, so ask your logs department if your curious.

Just as a thought, the extra information added to a logbook page that is not required is kind of loading a the gun for them.
Once you write it on the page it better be correct, even if it is not required you can still get hung with it.
As far as company requirement that is quite another thing, ya got to do what the person who pays you requires on there copy at least.

    bbone Thanks this.
