This has been in the works for a while. Wilco-Hess kinda go hand in hand. Hess is a supplier, Wilco is a carrier. I can't remember the connection, but I think it's similar to the Eagle/kangaroo connection.

So will their contract be void? Or will they still stay the carrier? I just hate to see when these large companies come in and take over to save a buck because the buck comes from US, the drivers.

This has been many months ago when I first heard about it. I called my contact at Wilco and at the time he really didn't know. As all things go in a buyout, just depends on Wilcos rates.

I know the Rensselaer operation has been gone for probably 5 years or so. ARG is doing a lot of there work. They were already doing there #6 oil accounts. Never thought I would see the day, use to love loading out of there terminal although they could be pricks sometimes. Other than the common carriers the only big gas hauler job around Albany now is Gulf. I still see some Sunoco trucks around heading south on the thruway towards Jersey.

Union contracts are automatically broken ( if that's what you mean ) and delivery contracts are reviewed and cherry picked. The Houston Texaco drivers got nothing and the Houston Shell drivers had a chance to bid the plant / terminal if qualified. Dunno about the Chevron drivers and the Exxon guys are still here. ( for now )

Distribution operations are a stand alone unit regardless of how named and the operation is sold to the CC.

Shell once told me no ( Thank you George M. ) and at the time it was a knife through the heart however in retro, I need to really thank George. I would have had about 5 years in when i was tossed out. Instead those 5 years were spent opening other doors.

I figured I'd chime in here since I'm a gas hauler as well. Buckeye Partners bought out the BP terminals around Pittsburgh last year. There used to be an Exxon terminal not far outside Pittsburgh but now its a PPC (Petroleum Products Corp) term. I just recently heard that the Sunoco terminal near downtown was sold. The only branded terminal that still has trucks here is Sunoco.
