Let me catch up. I d/h from Scranton to Auburn. As I said earlier it had snowed about 6". I'm cruising up I-81 just over the New York line and this cargo van is passing me. Right lane is clear and hammer lane had thick ice except for the tire path. Can you guess what happened next??

He passes me and goes to switch back to the slow lane. He has trouble in his attempts. He slows down a little and I guess he figured he needed more aggression in getting over the ice. He losses control about 5 feet off my front left bumper. HE GOT OWNED!! Dude losses control, goes sideways, goes into the ditch in the middle. Snow was flying everywhere from the impact. All was ok, well I'm sure he soiled himself, but other than that.

So I pick up in Auburn heading to Plainfield. This is a decent run so cool. At Plainfield the general rule is no earlier than an hour of appt, no later than an hour after. I have an 0430 appt, I'm thinking cool get unloaded early in the day hit dispatch and get a decent load hopefully.

I pull up to the gate talking to security on the CB and he informs me it is now no sooner than 30 minutes of your appt time. WTF?? So I have to go back out to the road for 30 minutes, even though the docks are empty. I'm there for a total of 3 hours which was BS.

I get dispatched to pick up Menards in Plano, no biggie it's 20 miles away. Going from Plano to Hamilton OH. I'm like they don't have a Menards in Hamilton. Well they do now, lol. They opened about 8 weeks ago. Just down the road from the Walmart.

So here I sit waiting to get unloaded. Preplanned to pick up a beer load at the drop lot and take it to Cartersville tomorrow. I sure hope I get some better loads than this. I don't mind the 300-400 mile runs at all as long as they throw in some good ones as well.

One big plus, I live about 55 miles south of here so the wife is coming up to camp out with me for my 10 hour break. BONUS!

Be safe all and drive hard

Brought a load from Trenton to Cartersville. About 6 or so drivers waiting for loads, ughhh. I'm out of hours anyway so hopefully they'll have something in the a.m.

Well I thought I was ahead of the game for the weekend, but.......

After sitting in Cartersville for 18 waiting for a load, finally got one to d/h to Decatur, AL to pick up a load going to Walmart DC in Grove City, OH. Delivery date is Sunday 0730. So I pick up my load yesterday and head out. Stopped in Sonora, KY for the night. Got up, got a shower and decided to get my truck washed since it was a good looking day, sunny, decent temps.

I cruise on up the highway and stop at the first rest area north of Cincy on 71 to take a wiz. It's 1140, so before I leave I'm thinking Walmart DC, 24/7 operation. Let me call and see if I can deliver today instead of the morn. This way I drop early and pick up my next load early which is already preplanned.

I call them and the girl informs me "let me see about it, I think they are closing up early today". Just my luck. She gets back and tells me "if you can be at the gate by 1230 they will unload you". I look at the clock, I look at my GPS and it's telling me I'm 69 miles from my destination. Then of course it hits me, my truck will only do 62. Grrrrrrr, no way to make it there in 45 minutes. F me runnin.

So I'm sitting here at the J south of Columbus til the morn. So that shot my great plans of the weekend. I was hoping to get an extra load in on this paycheck.

But it was a beautiful ride up with the weather, so it wasn't a total loss. lol

Have a safe and fun weekend everybody.

Hey - Look at it this way. It's a WalMart DC and they even attempted to get you in early. That's a shock in itself!

Actually I've been able to get in early on all 3 I've been to, or had the opportunity anyway. Yea they are sticklers though.
