108? that's miserable temps for sure. Was me, I think I would find a hotel with a nice ac room and pool. Hey, got to treat yourself once and awhile.

I surely hope your AC is running and keeping you cool in that kind of heat??

Bear thx for that tip about the trailer brakes. The last thing I want is someone else finding a discrepancy that I should have caught. Greg mentioned this in our training class last week that these things may happen at times. I will be sure to do my per-trip, enroute, AND my post trip inspections on all the equipment. I'm all about making it easier on all. This is a team effort and I will pull my share of the load buddy...

Sitting at the TA in Commerce, GA on my way to Eden. I'm taking my 10. Debated earlier about dinner, TA or the Long Horn across the street. Let's just say I made the wrong decision. Sure it's an all you can eat menu, but the quality isn't worth the price.

I would really like to start cooking more in the truck but I haven't committed to an inverter yet. Plus the coolers in here are worthless to keeping meats good for no more than a day or so. If I get another truck maybe I'll upgrade to a fridge.

Like Baritone has mentioned numerous times, it's freakin hot! Needless to say I will be idling until I leave.

Hope everybody's day is going well. Be safe and run hard!

So how much of an investment is it on an inverter?

I hear ya Man - I'm in Waco and it's 7pm and still 113 outside. I did my reset and I hate to say it - but my truck idled the entire time except when I went inside to use the restroom. I hate doing that - but no way I can rest in this kind of heat.

The fridg I have has a small freezer section but I can get about 4 hamburger patties and about 4 chicken breasts in there. I also have some breakfast sausage in there so if you pack it right - you can fit alot in there.

You should have known not to do the T/A food - it's never good. I went against my norm and ate at Denny's tonight. But I eat off the "light menu" so had chicken breasts and stemmed veggies.......much better than what I had expected.

Let me know when you get your inverter. I can show you how to stem veggies, make pasta and many other things in the microwave - and their good too!

Let me know where you go from Eden - maybe we can meet up in WI later this week. Im headed to West Allis from TX.

    Be safe!

2 ways you can go - (MIllis has to install it no matter which option you choose)

    1. Buy if from Millis and have them install it. You get the cables needed and a 1750 watt inverter. It's payroll deducted as you want. Runs with installation about 525.00. Took me about 90 days to pay it off. If I ever leave - it's mine to take with me.

    2. Buy one yourself and Millis will install it. Usually cheeper in initial cost but once you add the cables and labor to install - it's about the same.

I couldnt imagine not having one. One meal a day at a t/s will cost you a minimum of $12.00. Most (me included) need to eat more than once per day so it really adds up.

I hit Kroger or Walmart - spend about 100 bucks and can eat well for at least 2 weeks. Sometimes longer. I only eat out about 2 times a week at best. Good thing is there is either one close to just about all our terminals. And you'll learn where they are on the road also!

    BobMack Thanks this.
