I'm sure we will. Looks like I may not be going out until next week. That sucks! My trainer was in Macon yesterday and they dispatched him to Ft. Worth. I was really hoping to get out today but I guess that ain't happening.

Sorry I have had no updates lately. I've been out on the road with my trainer for 7 weeks and did not have my laptop. Had to stay out 7 because my trainer went home for Thanksgiving and that pushed back several things. But finally got my own truck. I had a choice of three 06 T2's or a 07 T6. I really considered one of the T2's because of the space, but in the end I took the T6 because it was in a lot better shape than the others. Very clean and well taken care of it seems. New rubber all the way around, 480k miles. Truck #7077.

It has been a test of patience for sure being out so long and sharing a truck with someone. But I did learn alot from my trainer and definitely feel I am a better driver because of his instructions and input.

We ran our arses off for the most part. Got to see some hairy situations and ridiculous places to have to back a trailer into. One in particular... pulling down a residential street in Chicago and have to back across traffic and one block to blind side into the dock. Fun, fun, fun.

I am definitely feeling more at ease and can be myself again now I'm on my own. That makes things easier for me.

After I picked up my truck in Cartersville, they ran me to Ridgeway, VA (9 miles from Eden) then brought me home to Trenton to spend 3 days at home to rest and get my stuff for my truck. Its good to be home after being out so long.

I'll try to update when I can. See you on the road!

Bear - were you the one I met in cartersville when we helped you pick your truck?
I thought it was you but I am really bad on remembering names.

If so - you picked a good truck. And an apu to boot.

No that wasn't me. I wish I had an APU. But we did meet in Trenton when your load shifted, if you remember that.

I made it in for Christmas yesterday, which is nice. Head back out Sunday for a midnight delivery. Short visit but just as sweet!

Wishing everybody a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Be safe out there.

nice to hear the progress.. I went thru the school in Cartersville, GA back in August of 2010... Went with trainer for my 5 weeks and then got issued my truck... Had to catcha ride with another driver to Trenton where i picked up my truck... 06 T2 # 6062....its a POS...nothing nicer i can say about it... Keeps breaking down and keep having problems with truck starting and everything else..somedays it runs very good ten other days you would think it was 30 years old... I keep having to put it in shop for problems after problems... sometimes seems like truck comes back out of shop with more problems then it went in with...I think i have narrowed it down to a possible electrical problem. I'm sitting in Remington, IN right now with a load that delivers to Wisconsin Rapids, WI... Hopefully i'll be routed over to BRF and they will put me in another truck... Was hoping for a T6 when i was issed truck but no T6 was available... So had to go with what they had and start earning the paycheck... Well keep us posted on the progress and anytime you see me at the yard or on the road feel free to stop by... Seems like im in Trenton all the time.

Whitey I thought Mills has top notch equipment. Why not just ask for another truck if your having that much trouble with it. How have your miles been when the truck does run? Good luck and wating to hear how things go for you.

Even with top notch equipment the noobs get the bottom of the barrel until they prove they can drive safely.

    yukon2001 Thanks this.
