So far not too bad of a week. Left Cincy on Monday to drop at Pontoon Beach on Tuesday. D/H'd out of there to St. Elmo, IL and got loaded with 44k of syrup coming to Millsboro, DE. I pulled in here about 45 minutes ago with an 0800 appt. Only downfall at this point is the rain for the past 2 days. Makes me tired quicker and gotta watch out for the idgets on the road.

    Drive hard and drive safe!

Well today really blowed! After going back and forth with night/weekend dispatch about my load, I finally pulled out of Trenton at 0430 headed to Chantilly, VA. Plan was to get there and get in a reset before my 0700 appt. Monday morning. Did my trip planning, made some coffee, fueled up and hit the road. In route I check my GPS to see what the closest truck stop is where I will bed down for the remainder of the weekend. There's a truck stop right in Chantilly.....SWEET! Get down here and this is one fugged up place to get around in a big truck. Traffic light hell, and traffic congestion like Chicago. Not fun with 47k of beer. Have to go down a couple of side roads to get turned around because I could not turn left where the truck stop was supposed to be. Get there and it's a little tiny building that's about as big as two mobile homes put together long ways and looks like it's been shut down for at least a year. The parking lot was blocked off too. Blows! There is no where else to go around here.

So I get on my phone and use my little app for truckers to see what it shows being the next closest. 35 miles away, grrrrrr. "F" it, I'm going. I got at least 34 hours to sit and I'm gonna sit some where. But this time I called to make sure it was in operation before pulling out.

Find the next truck stop and it's a small mom n pop kind of joint. Very limited parking but I got a spot. The restaurant is a small BBQ joint. I got me some Virginia ribs and tater salad. Eating one of my ribs and I break a friggin tooth. Lovely!

I had my mind set on a big ol' steak and baked tater because today is my birthday, so I was gonna treat my self. Oh well, as usual it's just another day.

I'm glad tomorrow is a down day. I think I'll be waking up on the wrong side of the cot.

    Thanks for the B'day wishes.

Delivered my load in Chantilly then d/h'd to Toano, VA to p/u a glass ld going to Patterson Whse in Fulton, NY. Sitting here now waiting for a ld. Got the dreaded "No load available yet", grrrrrrrr. You would think they would have something set up for you knowing you're going somewhere.
