Sitting at the T/A in Effingham, IL. Picked up a load going to Belleville, IL and got to the outskirts of Effingham and roads turned to ice. I had a tanker jack knife right next to me. Three trucks jack knifed and 6 cars off the road going East on I-70 in Effingham. Not a good scene. I went to slow down coming up on exit 162 and trailer started to slide out from under me. Tires were on a sheet of ice. Finally got to a somewhat manageable speed and got off at exit 160 for the truckstop. Gonna camp out here and see what morning brings.

It's ugly out there. Stay away if you're heading this way until you know it's safe.

Sitting at a Flying J in Hope Hull, AL (a little south of Montgomery). Got a beer load out of Eden going to Houston, TX. I'm liking the weather :biggrin_255: 67 degrees and the sun is out.

    Drive hard and drive safe

Some how I missed most of that weather. I was headed across Iowa on I-80 and had blowing snow till I got about half way across the state. I camped out at the Menards DC with -8 temps when I got up the next morning. Saw -11 in Minnesota.....brrrrrrrrrr. Warmed up to 24 in Eau Claire. Finally made it to warmer temps in North Carolina and Albany, Ga. In Albany I was shedding my sweat shirt. It was 72 there. Big change:biggrin_2559:

Last day of home time. Actually will be heading out here in a couple of hours.Been snowing off and on since yesterday but roads are clear, so that's a good thing. Had home time in for Tuesday but got in here on Saturday so basically been off almost a week. Double edge sword for sure.

    Be safe out there all.

Hey Bear, are you still doing the two weeks out then home time? I know you mentioned a couple weeks ago you had eased up on running so hard, trying to enjoy life a little more.
