Still having trouble backing. P1$$es me off. As I think back it looks like keeping closer to to left when setting up is easier. It also seems a tighter slot is easier to do. First time this morning was wide open and it looked like I'd never done it before.

What helped me backing up was watching other drivers and practicing with a toy semitruck.

My husband was the same way backing up with no one around him. It was because he was like "oh this is easy, I have no one next to me." After he quit with that mindset he did it without a problem.

Also, most new drivers are nervous and have a hit and miss with backing up. There was a trainer at FFE that as a newbie threw up everytime he backed up for the first 6 months.

Stick with it you will get it before you know it and don't forget to GOAL.

3rd time's the charm. Interesting my trainer is saying things like "trucking isn't for everyone." Maybe he's trying to motivate me. I'll go with that for now.

Nope, I was wrong. He let me drive back to the yard this morning and kicked me off the truck. Gotta say it's a relief. Maybe his method of training works for some but not for me. I'd considered asking for a new trainer about 10 days ago but just figured I'd stick it out. Today I politely disagreed with him, first time, and now I have a new trainer. 2 weeks to go.

Hopefully the new one works out. It doesn't mean you can't learn or he can't train sometimes students and trainers don't have the same style and don't mesh.

Don't let this get you down! Keep your chin up and you can do this.

Not likely to fold just because of this. The guy barely talked to me for 4 weeks unless he was "correcting" me. My new trainer at least has a personality. Looking forward to tomorrow.
