Another new guy

Hello out there. I'm new to this forum and am interested to see what kind of info is available here. I'm entering a driving school on 1/20/14 to renew my cdl after 25 years away from a truck. I'm 54 and retired from my old line of work but want to get out and drive some more since I liked doing it when I was younger. I hope I feel that way now! I'm going to Roadmaster in Fontana, Ca. And I'm hoping to find a local job since going otr doesn't really appeal to me. I've read about some nightmares regarding other schools and I hope I'm making the right choice with RM. I'm paying $5,000 for the school and paying for myself without financing to avoid being tangled up with getting 'paid back' by a carrier and hopefully I can get my license and go get a driving job.
