That's one thing I didn't ask...both places we talked about average take home each week....which in both cases is around 1300-2000ish. I believe that both are around 15ish an hour tho.

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

We need an update Thirsty! How is Texas treating you?

Sorry for the lack of updates, it's been a hectic week, and I was meaning to do so, once I got time to relax, so thanks for hangin in.
I left off, waiting for Monday to roll around, where I was hoping for any other companies to call me, Nabors to determine what housing they got, and to find a place to stay, as my time at the campground was up.
I called Todd from Nabors, and was advised that they got housing, but it'll be 10 days before it is ready, which is about the same time needed to complete a background check, so I was to head over to the yard in Iraan on Tuesday morning to complete the paperwork, and go for my physical.
I was able to secure a room to rent on Monday, and while not ideal, it was a place to stay. It's in Andrews, so not too bad a commute to the M/O area, the owner is pretty cool, and ok with me doing short term till company housing is available.
Tuesday morning, I drove to the yard, and did all the paperwork, and Nabors will start me at $15.50, which sounds about par for the course. I was originally not too keen with the 4-1 4-2 schedule, but during the day's meeting, was advised that I can request a couple days off on my 2 day weekend to visit family, which they have no problem with, as long as they can meet staffing requirements, so that offers a bit of hope for being able to see my family about once a month or so. So far, the folks from Nabors have been really gracious, and a pleasure to deal with....hopefully this will continue to be the case!
So, with housing, and the paperwork/physical being done, I had one more pressing issue to deal with. My daughter's birthday was this week, and since there was nothing more for me to do in Texas the next week or so, I decided to fly back home, and spend some time with the family and surprise my lil girl....and surprise her, I did! That moment, was worth every penny of the airfare.
So for now, I'm just kickin back, relaxing a bit, freezing my nads off
, it rained, snowed, and hailed within a few hours of landing. Seems so surreal, being in the desert one minute, and in the arctic, the next. Just enjoying my short stay till I head back next week, ready to go to work.
I will continue to update this, once things start happenin, but until then, I hope y'all have a great Easter weekend, and good luck to those other hopefuls!pathfinder1361 and nicholas_jordan Thank this. -

Haven't seen the pacific north west in months now! Might be time for me to make a trip back; only so much Skype can do for you lol...

by pm please, any field-office contact data you may have accumulated -- the trick on camp-grounds is to have two or three that you can rotate around, works good from now to October so ....
Plenty I could have advised on but I am stuck farther back trying to accumulate funds as I cannot get stranded 1,000 miles from familiar area ~ steel-toe boots and hard-hat + jeans and shirt with sleeves over 4" is really the good people that know what they are doing as some do get hired on the spot & that is what I have to go for as I have no reserves and will be sleeping in the cab or something for a month trying to accumulate operating margin
#-1 priority for you now is to stay totally 100-% focused every second of the operating time -
is that Andrews, TX 79714 ?... the town 34.5 mi, 39 mins north of Odessa on US-385 N ?

Glad to hear it Thirsty!
