If some yard donkey knocked my teeth out, I wouldn’t have to work for a while after my lawsuits. I don’t think that really happened. The person missing teeth would have the last laugh
Another on bites the dust..

The only thing I assumed was that you were the one that approached the yard dog, because I cant see him coming up to you to yell at you because the trailer was too low. Don't just HEAR...L I S T E N for a moment. The goal of the majority of those who responded is for you to be successful. WE want YOU to be SUCCESSFUL. Real talk. You know how that other poster is always complaining about his former boss calling him a female dog, and the milk truck and this person and that person, here a complaint, there a complaint, everywhere a complaint. There's no hope for him. None. No point in responding. You, I have high hopes for. Therefore, I respond. I'm not getting on your case. I am not kicking you while you are down. I promise. But you're going to war on all fronts on the slightest provocation. That's like going into a bar, and some random guy meanmugging you and you meanmug him back and say a few words and SUDDENLY, you challenge every guy in the bar to a fight. These guys dont even know that fool that was meanmugging you, but you want to fight everyone in the bar. One guy whipping a roomful of guys only happens in the movies.
Enhance your calm.
You dont have to fight every guy in the room. You don't even have to fight that guy that was meanmugging. You went up to the yard dog to complain about the trailer height. He jumped bad. You got mad. Security got involved. You want to quit. All I am saying to you is ENHANCE YOUR CALM. The cool head prevails. The dog they worry about is the dog that doesn't bark. That yard dog cant get the Big Dog "riled up."
My job is problem solving. They call me when there is a problem. That's how I make my money. If there is a problem with a trailer, I solve it. Wouldn't say a word to the yard dog. I've had trailer sit low because the landing gear sanked in the mud. I was trying to help you. If you dont want any help from me, just say so. I will never respond again. No hard feelings.Last edited: May 7, 2018
Gearjammin' Penguin, Pedigreed Bulldog, Rocknroller4 and 3 others Thank this. -
Semi Truck Fifth Wheel Frame Ramps » Iconic MetalGear
A pair of these would fix that problem.
Waving a fiver would also. -
@TripleSix I fully agree. However I think the main problem is both of us are old fossil butts that don't understand unless you use an obscenity every other word nobody will listen to you. Some of these youngsters today would have some serious bumps on the noggin if they used this language around my father and most of his friends. Different times different culture I guess. Makes me glad I am no longer doing that job.
Highway Sailor and TripleSix Thank this. -

...whisper...
Watch the effect it has. See, most people hear. They dont listen. They dont mean to, but it's an automatic. So you have to curse at them to get their attention. Whispering is more powerful tho.Highway Sailor and Buster Churry Thank this. -

@1278PA , have you ever watched the Ice Road Truckers show on The History Channel? Next time you're bored, and want a little lesson, check it out. Watch season one. There was a young guy on there, I think his name was Jay. Very quiet, did the job as well as, or better than the others. And he also got the big loads. Meanwhile, the loudmouths of the show were hauling loads of pipe.
Then fast forward to the later seasons, until you find Todd. He's polar opposite of Jay. Loud, obnoxious, and knows everything. Everything to him is a life or death situation. Notice he hauls baby loads.
You wanna succeed? Be like Jay. Quiet, professional, and just do your job better than your counterparts. Or take a hint from Six, as I believe he has it figured out as well.
There's a wealth of knowledge on this forum, and most don't mind sharing such knowledge, as long as you are willing to HEAR it.
I've seen your posts over the course of your journey, and have been intrigued by it. You've come pretty far, and nobody can argue that. I wouldn't piss it away over some idiot yard dog.
While it might seem some are arrogant, in reality, that's their way of helping you to not be another steering wheel holder. So, HEAR what's being saidHighway Sailor, Gearjammin' Penguin, MACK E-6 and 1 other person Thank this.
