Dude, this is nothing, it is trivial.
Absolutely trivial.
Many of us have dealt with so much more crap to make this thing work for us, that we would just brush this crap off.
So if this is stressful, you should take another job where you are not doing anything that interacts with others.
If you want to know how to deal with this on an adult level start with an assumption that they do not care or would do a thing for you.
Ask nicely, if the SOB gives you ****, then walk away and do it yourself or call the someone at your company to tell them you have an issue with the trailer but do not make an issue about it with the idiot.
I have had this done to me before, by people I worked with at y last job who gave me crap. I would just fix what ever they did myself instead of dealing with attitudes.
When I was on the road working for one company, I had to cross dock a lot of products, sometimes I would drop and hook. One place I had people on their break would crank down the dollies so no one could hook the trailers up. They would sit there and laugh at the driver's who were on a tight schedule and getting pissed off. Me, I just cranked them up and did my job to get out of there. However one driver beat the hell out of the one dock workers for it after three weeks of this crap. He was arrested, charged and went to court where the last I heard is still serving time for assault with intent to murder - he beat the guy pretty bad. Since there, no one touched the trailers.
SO do the job, ignore the BS and MOVE ON.
Another on bites the dust..

Another possibility for you is to go to Tanker of some type. You deal much less with people like you are doing.

First, I never ask someone to do for me what I can do for myself. If I cant figure it out, or no other was 'seems' possible, I'll ASK for help. Professionalism, mutual respect, and common courtesy will carry you a LONG WAY in this industry. The toes you step on today may be connected to the arse you have to kiss later!!
Just my $.02.....Highway Sailor Thanks this. -

Next time a yard pup gives you any trouble, just tell them that you know me.

No comment on the interaction with the yard dog but the overall situation is just part of life. You run into situations, you deal with them and you forget about them. A minor delay in your day is all that happened. -
Ok...so you want me to tell the OP that it's ok to have a hissy fit whenever things don't go according to plan?
Sorry, I'm not gonna sit here and blow sunshine up someone's arse to make them 'feel better' . Years ago, when I started driving, if something didn't go according to plan, I had to figure it out. I didn't have a dispatcher to whine to. Just a hard ### boss who didn't know what quit means. And you know what? I can safely say I am where I am, and who I am because of that one hard ### boss. I learned more from him than anyone. Furthermore, I don't see myself as arrogant, or rude. I do see myself as very confident and capable in my work. I will travel anywhere, anytime, for the right price. And I'll give 1000% every time.
If my way of trying to advise a new guy bothers someone, I hear the ignore feature works well. I guarantee I won't lose sleep over itGearjammin' Penguin Thanks this. -
Edit: posts always start off the same...years ago......lol, older people should be more like my father is, happy and ready to give knowledge and share experience. Attitudes and nasty demeanors should be left for young tykes. Age is supposed to make one wiser and better equipped, not enrage and make y’all ornery.Last edited: May 7, 2018
