I use to work for Ameritruck briefly when they acquired Transtar. It's hard to keep count of all the companies that they bought out...including Monfort. I think they bought out Proline as well. Not 100% sure on that. I remember talking to a Proline driver on the CB about possibly being part of Ameritruck. Don't know if it actually happened or not. I got out about a year before Ameritruck when under.

P&S has stopped leasing the yard on Richard Arrington Blvd in Birmingham. And no longer lease on owner ops. Can't help but wonder.

It’s been a terrible year for Trucking. If it gets much worse, expect Drivers pay to start going down. I hope it doesn’t happen, if unemployment kicks up, it will. Housing is just about topped out, without pay increases. Low interest rates, keeping everything going. Especially the stock market.Car sales continue to slow, more factory incentives on the way.Chrysler announced employee discounts, 5% for everyone. $50k pick up for $47.500!!!! Give me 10 of them!! Lol. Hang on, fellas , it’s inevitable, normal cycle. All the fancy buzz terms used, mean one thing, a lot of pain for working folks. All We can do, is the best We can. It’s out of our hands. Personal spending, will dictate.Im watching every penny, as usual. I’ve seen it happen so many times now. Not looking forward to it, many, like myself are still playing catch up from 10 yrs ago in many ways. I try not to be pessimistic, but it could get much worse, by the looks of things.

Dont worry the auction lots are bursting at the seams ...boss told me the other day the used truck export market is dead too so no market there either .
It's a buyer's market now but nobody in they're right mind is going to loan money on a truck now with less than perfect credit , a ton down and mafia interest.
Going to be alot of equipment sitting .

BackwoodsGA, Rideandrepair and brsims Thank this.

P&S typically leases O/O's through Blair. Occassionally through HS Express.

More important is the fact that TA and Love's REALLY hate doing work on their trucks. Getting paid is an uphill battle, and P&S will fight each and every line item on a repair bill. They have also tried to bully mechanics into pencil whipping DOT inspections to keep trucks on the road, despite the failing conditions on the trucks.

    Rideandrepair and bzinger Thank this.

Which is why I don't regret waiting to buy mine too much. I may have paid a bit more than I would have if I waited, but getting the financing in place was easy peasy. And my interest is dirt cheap.

    bzinger and Rideandrepair Thank this.
