One guy in the class said he was here and failed it two weeks ago due to heart rate. He said he spent the last two weeks running and doing yoga and came back to try again. I didn't see him the entire second half of the day, so I'm guessing he didn't make it again. I would say we had about nine or ten people was out today. Let's put it this way, we filled two vans this morning when we left the hotel for the terminal, and we only needed one on the return trip.
Another orientation question

Oh and they say that lifting the 60 pound crate simulates lifting a hose with fluid still in it. They said they do those tests for the safety of the potential driver, so he/she doesn't go and hurt themselves out in the field. I'm sure a desire to eliminate potential workers comp cases plays a role in it too.
southpaw2153 Thanks this. -
I went to orientation in Gary, IN at the end of May. Failed the 60 lb lift test but my heart rate was great. Came back the next week and my heart rate was over 20 beats per minute higher after I spent the previous week riding my bike 10 to 12 miles a day. I will never understand how that happened.
I say the new pre-work screen is bogus because I drove for Schneider for a year from Feb 2010 - Feb 2011 and I never had any problems lifting the hoses. It was very frustrating but what are you going to do, right? I have secured a better job than Schneider so I guess things all worked out.
Good luck to you. Schneider is a good company to work for. I don't have a bad word to say about them.Harbinger117 Thanks this. -
Yeah that's crappy, but I'm glad things worked out for you. Thanks for the well wishes friend. Stay safe out there.

did it at night, with my TE using a flashlight so I could see somewhat.

Exactly how do they expect you to lift the 60 lb. weight? Is it from the floor and over your head?
-
Also I heard they offer work boots for $25, Is that a orientation only price or can the boots be bought all the time for $25 as a Schneider driver?
-
free pair per calendar year. This is after orientation. I guess they figure 25 in case a driver chooses not to stick it out and improve their experience.
Otherwise , they have a discount program with the company we order from. more than one pair can be bought at discount. Theres a link on your crossroads page If I remember its under the division tab at the bottom left.mclass555 Thanks this. -
I believe it is on crossroads, and yes during orientation the boots are 25

Couple more questions:
facial hair, beards, can you have them?
Uniforms, Does the company require them and do they give them to you free?
