We were killing time until we could deliver so I thought I would catch a nap. My driver was still awake so I put my shoes on my seat crawled past him onto the upper and nodded off.About 3 hours later I wake up and see he's asleep so I pop down, put on my shoes and head into the office to watch some tv until its time to leave. Around 12:30 I go out to make sure he's awake and lo and behold the truck is gone!
I call him and the first he asks is where am I as it dawns on him I am NOT on the truck. Luckily, we weren't too far from the 90 so we weren't late. In fact, we didn't have to wait long at all to get a dock and they started unloading.
Heading to Dodge City, KS after we clear here. -
We used to have a little signal for "co-driver out of truck" - sleeper curtains pulled closed, co-driver in truck. Sleeper curtains open, co-driver out of truck.

My shoes were in the seat when I hit the rack. Guess we'll have work on that.

Met up with silenteagle for dinner. He turns out to be a solid citizen and a cool guy. Ron, thanks and congrats both for your service time.
After dinner I was running on 24 hours straight. After we got our load in Dodge City, trainer took over and I hit the rack for some much needed rack time.
Woke up around 02:30 "somewhere in the middle of Kansas".
I took over driving around 03:00. Get in 9+ hours moving us 479 miles and 4 states.
I added Indiana to my state list.
Got to call in my first pick up report.
Drove through the narrowest construction zone I've even seen. -
I'm curious about your trainer taking off thinking you were still in the upper; isn't it a no-no to drive with someone sleeping in the upper bunk??
-
Good job! Gotta love the narrow construction sites lol
garciamag Thanks this.
