Thank you! Yes, lots of ag/produce hauling, oilfield, and dairies around here. I think I've seen that Lowrie place, is that right off the 58 on morning drive/weedpatch highway, by the truckstops? I've seen signs for them hiring, and also found young's transportation today. I'm kind of leaning towards Melton as my backup plan, or System transportation, as most tanker outfits require more experience, but I'll keep hitting up everything. Has anybody had experience with either of those?
Another redundant newbie question thread..........

Do a year with a flatbed starter company and once you have your year(or a year of experience anywhere really, whatever type of freight) come to Central Oregon Truck Company. 65k minimum pay, 104k top pay. AVERAGE drivers 86-91k
Twistin' throttles Thanks this. -
That's actually a company I have looked at for down the road 1 or 2 years. My mom just moved to Oregon last summer, and my little sister has been there about 10 or so years. Beautiful state, but I fear they are becoming California light, lol.RedRover Thanks this.

We have a quad and western 11 fleet that gets home every week and pays upward of 96k. Definitely look into it!

Do they ever hire new CDL grads, or strict with their experience requirements?

You need a year of experience, but it needn’t be flatbed experience. Their insurance requires it. No more than one preventable accident(no rollovers, no rear end collisions). You may be able to skate with 9 months experience, but probably not.

Oh yeah I forgot about UAN. That’s not hazmat and you should be able to get a job right away. Not a hard job at all and the plants and generally pretty laid back and not so intimidating for a new driver.
