I know you guys get alot of these questions, but....

On my Cobra ltd29, i go to calibrate, go to 40 and all that, but when i switch to Swr, the needle barely moves. Like not even to 1. I thought this was good until talking to a guy and he said it wasnt good, it was bad. So I dont know. I would really appreciate the help!

    Thanks!

Cobra 29's have an SWR and CAL position usually next to the meter. You first must place the switch in the CAL position key the mic and adjust the SWR CAL CONTROL until the needle goes to the delta mark on the meter or sometimes there is actually a CAL on the meter at the point where it needs to be set. When that is done then switch from CAL positio to SWR position and key the mic again hopefully you will see just a little movement in this position if so you are most likely okay if the needle goes half scal you need to adjust the antenna if you can. Let me know I will try to help you if you need it..

"1" should be at the bottom of the scale, so when the meter isn't being used (radio off), the needle should be pointing at the "1".

If it's not, then you need to adjust the meter. There should be an adjusting screw at the back of the meter. Take the cover off of the radio and see if there is one on the meter.

On a perfectly adjusted antenna, the needle wouldn't move at all on SWR.
