Once again stupid people whining. There is money to be made in trucking. Stop #####ing and get to work. Most people I’ve known in trucking who can’t make money in seem to have trouble making it in anything they do.

Making money in trucking is easy. Keeping some of the money you make is how we tell the pros from the wannabes.

Money problems start with the person. To much eating out. No budgeting. No saving extra.

If you really want to cause chaos & get some serious attention, just get all the trucks hauling toilet paper to shut down.
We could get raises, 30 minute load/unload times....... General public & shipper/receivers would be treating us like kings & queens in a week. We could be writing our own contracts. We'd be getting respect from everywhere.

That could actually backfire though. When everyone started shutting down we had a few trucks being “followed” to Walmart stores because customers thought we were hauling toilet paper. The problem is the trucks they were following were reefers hauling meat & produce!!
And Walmart reefers are generally unmarked!

I started trucking in 2004 and was paid $250 - $350 a day doing local.
I'll be coming back to trucking and most places don't pay that for OTR.
16 YEARS later and the wages have just stagnated. Cost of a house, milk and gas have gone up but drivers pay, not so much.
Those who say the best rise to the top of the pay scale should pay attention to what kind of bowl there in. Because other things in bowls float too.

Normal run of the mill drivers should be pulling down 70k - 80k a year. The professional drivers 150k - 200k if pay had kept pace with other occupations and inflation.

What do you mean " unmarked ".
Simple reefer upfront with seal on a back door already means that 95 out of 100 trailers have some sort of meat inside..
