Arrl is strictly ham radio. They are pretty much anti-cb.

Plenty of videos and articles on the internet. Just have to search to see what you're really wanting to know.

As far as books go, good luck. CB books that you may find helpful may be from the 70s or 80s.

Yup that's right. The hustler fg27s cb antenna that I have, are made for the 10 meter ham band too. I just have to trim some off for the cb band. I've been trying to find some basic antenna info for you on the Internet. But most of them seem to have a lot of theory involved.

what do you want to know?

    EDIT …
ok Craig, I am going to offer some advice.

If you want to look at the ARRL antenna handbook, get an early edition, it is somewhat simpler to follow of which the later versions are … well … complicated.

as Ike said these are geared toward hams but do offer a wealth of knowledge for those who have a foundation.

However if you want to get a basic understanding with some ideas, there is a bunch of information published that will give anyone a solid foundation for learning about those mysteriously odd things called antennas.

one is an old publication called S9 and you need to look at 1963.

go to this place called worldradiohistory.com for it, that’s another place worth exploring.

here is I think a directly link,

    https://www.worldradiohistory.com/CB-Radio-Magazines.htm

every month in 1963 they had antenna articles about the basics, not just for cb either. So start there and see what you think. Each month is a pdf.

Oh and if you look at 1965, you find my name in a couple places, but I won’t say where.

    You are welcomed

By the way, a lot of these online articles and sources are just scraped off of one site that does not exist anymore, it was all about antennas and feedlines. It had two parts, a subscription section which had a lot of great articles about theories and abstract knowledge discussed in a closed forum. But, the public section had a lot of how-to's and plans for the experimenter. I wish I knew the guy who owned it, I would have bought it to keep it alive, the same as MP3Car.com, I would have bought that one too.

Other sites are just too much involved, they seem to take the high-brow approach and many of them are wrong with their theories and even their assumptions.
