I’m not big on the magnet idea myself, but it’s worth a shot. Especially since my company changes trucks randomly. The mirror might work pretty well if it’s grounded sufficiently. Unfortunately the bolts into the door are covered so running a separate mount like the Cascadia might prove difficult.

I saw a mirror bracket type mount.you would use on a classic style truck....It has a platform on it that was intended for a mag mount type flashing light for over size loads....
Saw it at the iowa 80..

Skywave is something that you did with luck and surface wave or ground wave is something you can do 7 days a week.

I'm about to order a 7' skipshooter antenna an I wanted to know if the Wilson 8' coax would be a strong enough coax for that antenna. Keep in mind I'm running a Cobra 29LTD classic (no peak or tuning done to it). Current coax I have is 8ft road pro (the one you can get from pilot or flying j).

There is probably very little difference between the two. I have been using the road pro for years with just a stock radio and have had no problems.

You can always use a multi meter and chk your coax...
Length question will be a debate for yrs..
Quality of coax and the pl259 ends and their solder job..

10/4 I appreciate the inputs....I went looking to get a pvc pipe for the antenna an I got the same response from 2 home depot's and Menards which is they don't have anything that small. (1/4" x 2')... Any suggestions for alternatives??

Thats off..Look for the semi flexable stuff used as indoor water pipe that you would use in dish washer connect..Keep the inside diameter of pvc as close to outside diameter of the antenna...Use a lil splash of the spray in foam to make it fit a lil tighter....
Its only purpose is to keep the 7 footer from swayin so much and make the base last a lil longer
