antenna length?

Lol..I did that back in 2000....Had a cobra in a binder hooked up as per normal..Another hooked up in the bunk w ant hooked up on back of the cab..At night you wouldnt see the whip so i stirrrrrrred the pot big time..

 

This stuff always frigs me up just as im thinkin im finally gettin a handle on it..

 

Yeah I get that. I had a friend who would spend an hour just to get his mobile antenna to a 1.1.1 swr. In the back of my mind I thought it was overkill. But he was happy and that's all that mattered. Just like this age old question does coax length matter? Some people says it does do to phase angle and VF. Others say no, it just has to be long enough to reach the antenna. After all these years I've decided they are both correct.... LOL. At the end of the day it's just a 4 watt box.

Have you ever seen an antenna get tuned by a laptop?First time for me never heard of it before guess I need to catch up to the times.First he did the normal machine then put it on the laptop.
