still working on this. I unscrewed my coax from antenna mount and tested from whip to the pin where coax screws on and got 0.00 on the meter. Moved the probe from the pin to the outside stud and had infinite resistance so everything checks out good with my antenna correct? I tested from antenna mount to mirror and got 0.00 but when testing from mirror to bolt in the frame i got 0.l reading. so when testing from neg battery to bolt on frame i got 0.00. took my glove box out and found a wire grounded in there. tested from bolt on frame to that wire and read 0.00. so i ran a wire from mirror bolt on the door to that ground. Everything test out now with 0.00 on the mirror mount. Still have high swr though about 3.5 on all channels

Get an external meter with a good jumper and check the SWR that way. BUT THE Bestest way to do it is to have someone check it with an antenna analyzer.

Night Stalker10 and mike5511 Thank this.

Also, you can’t rely on those SWR lights, on the cobra 29’s I worked on everyone of them had to be adjusted.

If you find your SWRs are OK, you'll have found another use for duct tape.

I've taped over a few "cry wolf" lights in my time.

Or if I wanted to be uppity about it, I brushed them over with model airplane paint of an appropriate color..
