Putting the antenna on one side or the other shouldn't make a difference in the SWR.
Make sure the bottom of the antenna coil is above the roof line of your cab. You can buy a longer bottom shaft section if you need to.

You might as well go for broke. Get the new antennas and some new Cophase coax and let r ripp tatter chump, hope that radio wasn't a mail-order from Walcott. Check out the radio garage on YouTube that dude looks like he knows what he is doingAnother Canadian driver Thanks this.

Dont need co phase.....
Dont run gnd wires from mount to chassie....Look into whats called bonding...

Dont buy them cheap swr meter bs or even a high priced one....Pick up a good analyzer and a multi meter..Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
