For the folks that care about their antenna system, they do need some maintenance! Especially during sloppy winter weather. During the winter storm we had out here around MLK day my high SWR alert shut down my TG Quad 5 radio. Wasn't able to get to the truck for 3 days, due to digging out, and when I did all was fine again. This past Thursday I ran into some freezing rain in Eastern Ohio and the radio shut down again. I must say, Skipshooter makes a strong ### antenna! Tilted 45 degrees forward (Cascadia) it was not only straight up at speed but wiggling side to side like nobody's business! Couldn't believe it didn’t snap! Checked over the antenna this weekend and it turned out the stud on the Procom mount was corroded. Picked up a new stud and all is good now.
