If you are curious about different antennas go to page 3 and read through thread "Back in T680" by Hick, he basically tried every antenna known to man and gives his results on each one. I bought 2 Procomm Quad 4.5" and connot tune swr lower than 2.0 so I am hesitant to spend anymore money and try taller antennas, also I have not measured from ground to mount ( guessing its at least 8') but any antenna too tall would exceed 13'6".

Forgotten what you’re in, but the Quads on “my” T880 had to use a lengthened tip to get SWR down to nil. That was with Robert using the RigExpert at Clays Radio Shop. (New truck and factory coax to mirror arms).

A 4ft ant is a bit short causeing some reflect..That quad wrapp sounds like a top heavy ant to..Might have other issues as well but to the fella that cant go below a 2..You have issues elsewhere..
Get an analyzer and see whats happening freq wise..Grab a ohm meter and see if its coax or ground plain issues..

Experience with Skipshooter antennas let’s me give a positive review, although they are narrow banded. If you’re like me and hit different channels all over the CB and so called “freeband” freqs, you might want to keep that in mind. As far as strictly using them on one band and how they perform, I can’t find a better constructed fiberglass antenna.

fwiw, the skipshooter neon orange antennas are being pulled as they fade into pink after a short time in the sun, one day. Ask me how I know. SS promptly resolved the situation though, so excellent customer service

Wish people would get off the effing swr band wagon as a sign of performance..
Swr means squat..resonance,impedence,resistance..A great swr does not mean anything is working very well....You can have a great swr but the others i just mentioned can be way off and they mean a hell of alot more to a ant set up..If they are swapped then chances swr will be pretty good..

I bought 3 7 ft ant..1st was good..My bracket broke and totally screwed the ant...Picked up two more and it was a bum ant from the factory..It got replaced via durham radion outside toronto (#### they are now closed up for good)and sence my results are nothin but great..Easily tuned great tx/rec(depending on conditions 20-35 mi)..Most of my time is between 1 and 19 but there is room to play on other freq before it needs tuning...Great ant if you ask me..
