well lay it on us...."show me one swr meter that isn't built on the basic wheatstone bridge circuit" and in particular the swr bridge used in the piece of equipment under discussion here, the Cobra 29LTD. let's stick to the subject. there's no fight here, just learning and knowing. let's dispense with the factless posturing.

I'm not shure what you said but if it is about VSWR meters ....
The lowest frequency I have worked with is 160 KHZ and the hightest was 96 GHZ ( MMW )
Many of them were directional couplers or based on them many at HF used a printed strip line terminated in opposite directions with a Dode detector and a load on the other end allowing you to read the change on a simple meter with a switch.
As for a wheatstone bridge there is no reason someone could not use one
But it is not the norm ......Yup Thanks this. -
the swr meter in the Cobra 29LTD is the one we're talking about.

Here is some info on who to make one

and worthless for those seeking sub 1.7 SWR

and you determined that by looking at the circuit in the Cobra 29LTD schematic i take it?
"It is a directional coupler a bit fancy but one none the less". -
What OEM "truckin budget" radio is capable of such ?
Ive tested " A MANY" and therefore base my statement as posted
Even a few of the "thought to be" fell short of "as advertised".
The Truckin Cb forum limps forward yet another notch . . . . . -
Buy one or remain is suspense . . . . . its a Magnum, which is no different then Stryker,Connex or Galaxy.
They all fly just under the radar to the law, just what is there really to question ?
Really ?

It is a directional coupler like most are.
