The best thing to do is to start looking for a job that suits you. Tampering with a company truck can and will get you fired when you're caught. Making you sleep in a truck at 26 degrees isn't a company I'd work for anyway. The last company I worked for had them set for 5 min idle between 45 and 75 degrees. My current company does not have idle timers set at all, but we check on PM's and question excessive.
havent found it yet, but its in the shop because it wouldnt even idle at all when the temp was above 75. cruise control doesnt work either.
Mmm, that was my concern. That means it's located somewhere else on the Coronado. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, I'm only familiar with century class and Cascadias on the FLD side. Someone mentioned the air intake on the Coronado, above? Maybe that's worth perusing. I'll shoot off a few texts to my O/O buddies rolling Cor's and see what I can dig up.
I believe that would probably be an ambient air temp sensor. 2-wire power & ground with changing resistance depending on the outside air temperature.
btw if your company didn't want you to idle odds are they monitor idling either through satellite or ECM during servicing . No point having equipment tampering on your record .... Probably best to go find a job that meets your needs instead
btw if i wanted your opinion of what i should do I'd have asked for it. your two cents aint worth ten cents. if you cant answer the question in the thread.. then dont answer at all. im tired of people interjecting their unwanted and usually worthless opinions and unsolicited advice about going to some other company. if i could...dont you think I would already be there??? either answer the question or dont post. its really that simple. i know the consequences. i dont need you to be my internet police daddy and hold my hand and tell me things I already know. I am a big girl. I can make decisions for myself.
