I have a hidden switch wired into my starter relay circuit.

Not fool proof, but most thieves won't waste time with (seemingly) dead batteries or bad starter.

    simple car alarm helps

    + DVR around truck
    + GPS tracker

I use GPRS/3G on line GPS tracking and I can see truck position, fuel level and data from J1708 Datalink in real time

For the truck: park it in high range and disable the button on the shiftstick. That way they can only use the highest gears and this makes a loaded truck nearly undriveble. You can do this by adding a hidden switch.(don't even need to hide it,put it on the dash and put no labels or mislabel it)

For the trailer:you mentioned the pincode for your Volvo.
Wabco has a brakesystem that has a function which locks the brakes and only releases then with a pincode.

Thanx a lot gentlemen. A bunch of great ideas. I will add few features more to my truck and trailer. I will make their life miserable.

Anyway I found out a GPS gadget that I will buy these days. I'm talkin about this http://www.gpscity.ca/garmin-gtu-10-for-canada.html
I can set up a geo-fence and the moment the gadged (that will be attached secretly to the vehicle) breaks the geo-fence I will receive a text message on my cell. So I can move my but fast and catch the scums red handed.
Thanx a bunch again gentlemen for every input.

A hidden kill switch for the ECM and another electric air solenoid with hidden switch to cut off supply air to the parking brake valve.

I use Ukrainian local servise DaGama, they make small boxes that are connected to J1708 and J1939. They use optional fuel level sensors in every tank. Full setup is about $600-700 per vehicle, and I pay about $20 per mounth. I use GoodLine GSM card becouse this SIM card works worldwide
