Have you been off two weeks for an accident, or just vacation?
Whenever I'd get back in the truck after three or more days off, everything felt wrong. I couldn't get comfortable in the seat, I'd scratch gears, brake too hard, etc. By the end of the shift everything would start to smooth out again.
I don't currently drive a truck (trying to re-enter the road force) but I got in a crash on my way to work last year; a car t-boned me in my driver's door and knocked me and my car across the street. I got a ride home from the hospital and I couldn't drive myself for three weeks due to the injury; then after the first week of a month-long PT, they suggested I drive to appointments, instead of letting my wife drive me. I was a nervous wreck for weeks, but I finally mellowed out. Actually, I may have been getting too complacent, and the crash was the wake-up call I needed. I definitely pay more attention to defensive driving now than I used to.
Just keep on it. Good luck!

Anxiety?
HA. I laugh at it. I did take a little medicine for a few months some time ago, and stopped doing that for that problem when I realized it was a dead end with ever larger doses. The doctor that thought I should try it told me I was only one of three in her life time to simply stop it before it really got bad.
Frankly I don't stress about much of anything these days anymore. I'll still pick on the dispatcher where possible. Even if it is a forum post via someone complaining of picking up a late load that should have been handled better by lazy dispatcher.
I think I should take care, there is no opposite of anxiety. And no treatment for going the other way from it. Versed would be one...
Im one of those drivers who were bored in sunshine and no traffic beautiful weather in flatland. I need something to fight such as old man winter. I do well in adverse situations. It's just one of those things.
If you are having anxiety, fix it. Something is biting on you in life. Stop it. whatever it is. discard it.rolls canardly Thanks this. -
OP, have you taken a physical lately to make sure everything is in working order..

Panic attacks need tracing to it's roots. Those are a very real set of symptoms that present and makes life difficult for those who have them or have had them. I have not had any since childhood and only maybe two incidents of that. In those days they teased for showing weakness and not able to take care of business (Problems) in life. These days it's strongly encourage to visit a mental health counsler and find the problem and fix it so that it does not recur.
Trucking should have something fun, for me it's two things one getting around the USA and being paid for it and it's always fun being the one on the horn for those school kids in the bus. (Not too many anymore past a certain age..) Not only that the basic company horn is not much to it compared to some of the custom train horn kits on the big ones out there. Those are fun. -
they make pills for that, just ask chris cornell lol

there are some new anxiety medications that are non habit forming and are not on drug tests however you need to see at least a family shrink to get them.. I wont name names but some folks in my tree need to see a nut doctor every so often
also some depression medication will stabilize mood and stress levels with no effect of driving or drug tests again not naming names but... I know things

Just drive around Phoenix, Los Angeles, and all the highways in the Western U.S., go through The Gorge a bunch of times, especially while they are doing construction on that bridge, and you'll be fine. You focus on your task. Disregard any dreams you have of being T-boned, or head on collisions.
