Prime does training and flatbed, and their starting pay is the best I've seen so far. You'll get done with training miles requirement quicker if you start out with reefer since they get the most miles.

I do stand corrected on that one, I forgot that I heard recently that Prime has really upped their starting pay rates for students. I used to hear nasty things about them a few years ago, but they really seemed to have turned things around.

I would call both companies and talk to each. Make a list of questions regarding things that are most important to you, and write down the answers that each company gives you. That way you can make the best decision for you and your family.

I was thinking the same thing. I understand TTR not wanting the grammar police to show up, but that does not prevent a person from being judged, it simply encourages that judgement from happening in this public forum.

Virtually everyone is judged or graded every day based on what we wear, how we look, how we talk and yes, even by what we write, whether on paper or on the internet.

don't limit yourself to the Mega companies.

try a smaller co. and you probably will just head on out.

I was out of it for 1 1/2 yrs and was put in a truck and sent out.

I had over 20 some yrs under my belt though.

If I had to go with a 62 mph or a Prime 58mph mega carrier truck ,I'd hand in my (CDLs):biggrin_25522: .lol

I showed up fresh out of school to my first interview at a company with 2 trucks. I got tossed a set of keys and told to bobtail to Fleet Pride, pick up some parts, then grab the trailer and pull it to the shop. I managed to get that done without scratching anything. Then I got dispatched on my first ever load - beer. 80K gross, picking up in VA, delivering in Mass.

    I'm still with the company.
