I have seen them mention it on QC that there were openings for midwest, but that doesn't guarantee even getting on it, or staying in that region.

Training is excellent for Newbies and the training pay is better, and base pay once you are out of training is better that the other outfits.

For training, if you didn't get your CDL at Crowder or their affiliated school in Detroit, then you will be sent to Crowder for a 5 day boot camp as part of your orientation.

If you have the CDL, you won't have a problem with the camp. Expenses are paid by Conway.

After orientation you will do 10K miles with a finisher (trainer) at $.26 per mile. You drive most of the miles. Many companies send you out with the finisher as a team. You don't learn much if your teacher is sleeping while you are driving. With us, the finisher is awake. (As a finisher, there ain't no way I could sleep with a newbie at the wheel!)

We have a midwest region. I don't believe you can hire off the street into it, but I am not sure. Even if you can't, they post openings often enough that you shouldn't have to wait long.

Contact a recruiter to get straight answers and all the details.

    Good luck to you.

I just recently got home with my truck and man Con-Way is the way to go. The fleet manager I got is very good and very easy to work with. Just look out for me on the road guys with my user name on the side of the door.

Maybe I'll see you up there John, that's when I'll get back from boot camp.

I can't wait to get out with a finisher and get my own truck! I'm loving the orientation and boot camp. Everyone is great!

I live in west palm beach, fl and am trying to find a good company. Recruiter is trying to push Stevens on me but feel they are benifiting from it.
    I want something otr.

I see Conway trucks all the time in Riveria beach, fl but they are only single cabs so taking it they aren't otr. If I were to go with Conway when I'm not on the road where Would the truck be parked?

One thing I liked is they are military friendly. I just returned from 3 years in Iraq and Afghanistan as a truck driver.

    Thanks all and stay safe!!

The day cab con-ways you see are con-way freight trucks. They are the sister company of con-way truckload which does the OTR.

There is likely a con-way freight terminal near there if you see a lot of them.

If you hired on with con-way truckload there is a chance that con-way freight might approve you to park your bobtail in their yard on time off (some do, some don't). Otherwise you would have to find a truck or some other safe location near you to park at.

A recruiter can give you more specifics and check into whether or not a specific con-way freight yard allows parking on their lot during hometime.

Hey everybody! I just wanted to know if anybody has any advice towards becoming an O/O with Conway. They have a new lease program available and I am seriously thinking about becoming an O/O. This would be my first time as I have never been an O/O before.
Is workers' comp insurance required even though you are the owner and the only driver? Does the maintenance warranty (purchased in addition to the truck lease) cover most costs of repair?
    Thanks in advance!
