So when you're sleeping,wife will wake you up everytime she has to back?You've been teaming 10 months,figured she'd learn by now.How about fueling,who does that?

 

It's not about her, it's about having a second set of eyes. Like GOAL except she doesn't have to get out and look. As far as fueling goes we tend to switch at fuel stops so we are both out there fueling.

 

True. A friend from school teamed with his brother in law at Con-Way and his brother in law owes back child support from another marriage (you can't get into Canada if you owe child support). They have both since quit and gone local. You can make pretty decent money if you team for CWTL. My best check was $1800 gross including the safety bonus. Equipment is excellent. When you team you do a lot of coast to coast runs for UPS and Conway Freight, just drop and grab an empty, easy job. It's being a solo driver what's annoying.

 

Very true but she needs to learn.That's part of being a trk driver.I'm a female did the solo thing for 8 yrs.How is wifey poo spose to learn if you keep doing it for her?Many husband/wife teams on here,bet they don't have their hubby help them.Now put your foot down and teach wifey poo to back,lol.

I don't think he ever said, or even implied his wife couldn't back up. Just asked if he could spot for her, as that is what they were used to.
Seems like a good and safe method.
If it works, keep doing it.
You've got nothing to prove to anybody.
You shouldn't have to conform to somebody else ideals.
The road test and backing skills is easu money. Pass it, then do your own deal.
I know many teams that long ago, the wife was a second log book.
Nobody back in the day busted their chops.
But then again. Times have changed.

& I agree on spotting ...I always helped out a co-driver If he needed it
my take on it is ur a "Team" so you work out everything together ...
just like of your late ...it goes on both your record since ur both responsible for the load from pick up to the final ...

Now if she woke the husband up so he could do every back ...that would be a different story !
