    Good morning fellow truckers so I'm having an issue with my thermoking tripac apu hopefully any of you guys had same issue and can enlighten me. Apu will start runs fine ac compressor kicks on and blowing cold air after 5 or 10 minutes it will shut off my controller will reboot pretty much checked fuses checked maxi fuse all grounds checked voltage on alternator checked belts all good no codes I 2 occasions at abput 2am apu turn of with an alt code but never done it again after it started doing this. could it be a bad freon charge or air on the system any input would be appreciated

    First if you have a laptop download thermo kings software. Its free and is the same software they use in house. Products look under features. This will help pin down exactly whats going on. If no codes check how long they have the "target run time" set for. When i got my 579 it was set to 2 hours and i was able to reset it to 12.

    Next top off the coolant if its a closed loop. Could be its overheating due to low coolant. Dont let it looking full fool you. Ive had mine look half full then take 2 quarts of coolant and never throw a code. Also check your oil. Make sure its full or near so. Low oil can cause it to shut down and wont always throw an error.

    so it's got a fresh pm new filters new oil etc the coolant got plenty of it it is directly connected to the truck coolant all I do is open the valves and for the program does it connect to the apu or is it just a trouble shooting program thank you
