Nice Carcar, and welcome aboard. My 1st truck as an o/ o was a 1982 4964 Western Star conventional, very similar to your truck. When I bought it, it had the White "Reyco" suspension. After 2 broken springs in a month, I had the back cut off behind the sleeper and grafted a Pete air ride, with much better results. Had a 350 BC, 10 speed, Imade money with that truck, only because in 3 years, it rarely let me down. Not sure what a 475 BC is, a turned up 400 maybe, but you have to baby a Cummins. It's not a Cat motor, but I got 350K+ on my BC's, easy, just gotta go easy on them. This is what my WS looked like, only blue. It was a good truck. White made good trucks, and your A-car, like my WS is almost all White components. White bought Autocar in the 50''s, just to get that cab. It became the staple of all White trucks.. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/df/3d/94/df3d94053506c3c087e0c701c77a2bea.jpg
Thanks so much for your knowledge. The 475 has the timing advance on it. That's a nice looking WS. Looks so much like mine. Even the sleeper.
Beautiful truck, I was thinking about checking it out. That Cummins was the only thing I didn’t like about it. Just my personal preference. I had a 1985 western star and so did my dad. Very similar trucks. And both built by the white Motor company. When trucks were trucks.
I swear these AT64s and Pre 1985 Western stars and even the 1986 to early 90s western stars were some of the nicest trucks ever Built
