Lol!!!! Thankfully that track was dead....:D

These pictures were taken in Huntington, WV around 1992? At Marten Steel. This A-car had a 400 Cummins / 13 spd / with Hendrickson 4 bag suspension. It was a good old truck...

Ya know, a lot of newcomers seeking knowledge come by and ask.... “will this old engine handle 80,000?”.... well, that green tank we were loading on that 45’ air ride flat, was 11’ tall / 18’ wide / & weighed 83,000 by itself not including the trailer and tractor.

@Jason Smith that’s a true classic you have there, far as I’m concerned one of the “Holy Grails” of Trucks in my opinion!

Wow!!! Thanks for the flowers!!!!! I'm looking forward to seeing how it pulls. 475 factory set, 13 speed, 3:42 rears. I'm planning on painting it back white with the brown, orange, yellow stripes.

I agree!! I remember delivering in Richmond, VA then rolling back along I-64 west towards WV. Foot got a little heavy while listening to some good country music and the notorious whine of the 12513 transmission. Out of nowhere seen the bubblegum flashing on the east bound side in a string of 4 wheelers, same time the old CB came alive.... Back’r down west bound..... only doing 5 over but he didn’t like it lol....

Just leave that engine alone and let it do it’s thing.... main thing is keep the oil clean. Don’t lug it, gets down around 1600 is about as low as ever go with my Cummins. Be good to it and it’ll be good to you....

Good advice. I don't plan on turning it up. I get average 6.3 mpg on my 3406 b tall roof Freightliner classic. I'm hoping for 5.5 - 6 mpg and I'll be happy.

This was my dads 1985 All Star. 400 Cummins 13 speed, Cummins spun a bearing in the early 90s and he put a 425 3406B in it. Loved that truck. If anyone knows of 1 or possibly the whereabouts of this 1 I will pay top dollar for it!
