Maybe I used a wrong term. Id have to read the mandate again to be certain but I don't believe the term elog is used.
Elogs have been around for two decades, Werner started using them in what? 92? Eclipse has been around for over ten years and it doesn't plug into the truck at all yet was called an elog. So maybe im wrong but im thinking elog is Elictronic Logging Device. Not what most think when they say elog which is a black box type deal that's connected to the truck and automatically records all movement and other data.
Any carriers I can lease on to with paper logs?

Thats what I have. I hate it I hate it. I hate it. Gotta do 3.75 mph. When a parking spot opens up in the middle of the night. While every #### driver all of a sudden needs fuel.

Maybe I don't know the difference. For me. I don't want to buy a truck. To plug something into it. That can dictate when I can and can't move.

You can move truck with Personal Conveyance. It Off Duty and doesn't affect your HOS. So you can change parking spot at truck stop. You can go get food. I have free shower credit at truck stop across the street. So I'll probably Personal Conveyance to get a free shower vs paying for one

ELDs are not perfect compared to running paper but they are not worth getting out of truck in my opinion. We just have to show something for moving the truck today. I'm getting my free shower across the street at another truck stop.

Thank you.

You know, there is a fight between Apple and the administration. Seems that Apple doesn't want to unlock the terrorist's phone.
He's dead, and a suspected criminal, and they don't want to violate his privacy. Yet drivers sit there and say "but they are not worth getting out of truck in my opinion." BS! It tracks you and the government doesn't have to force your cell provider to cough up tracking for them. You voluntarily put it on your truck. And you pay for it!
Not me. If my carrier decides that exempt trucks must have them to continue the contract, then that's a decision I will make. As long as it is only the government requiring it, I refuse to give up my 4th amendment right. I, as a law abiding citizen, should have the same protection as criminals.RubyEagle, adayrider, Cabinover101 and 1 other person Thank this. -
