Hey y’all, so I called Jim Palmer trucking this morning as I was pretty much set and ready to jump on board with them to get my CDL and start my training. The recruiter said I needed to be a permanent resident or citizen to work for them because of their insurance policy. My work permit allows me to work legally in the country and I know I can get a CDL in Texas, where I live, I just can’t get any hazmat endorsement. He said Werner Enterprises hires people like me. I’m going to check with them and see what they tell me, but do any of y’all know any other companies that hire people with a work permit but no permanent residency? It is my dream to make a career out of trucking, so if Werner is my only option I’ll go with them, but I would like to see what other companies are available to compare. Thank you all for the help
Any companies out there that hire people with a DACA work permit? Help

KLLM Transport
Stevens Transport
Millis Transfer
Western Dairy Transport
All these have school in Texas.
Which city are you in or near in Texas. Maybe some other choices that hire with a cdl permit.Alright17 Thanks this. -

My insurance (underwriters) company requires that you have a green card to work for me. The a DACA status individual is NOT allowed to be hired by them because (NOT MAKING A POLITICAL STATEMENT) of the inconsistency of congress to pass the laws to allow it to exist in the first place. The program is unconstitutional through an EO and has been legally sunset with the repeal of that EO and this was put into their policy when it happened and informed those who hire legal resident drivers like me.
