I am considering going to a non accredited school in Austin, Tx. I cannot afford a $4-7k school. I have heard too many bad stories about paid training companies. The business is called "Austin CDL Services". They have excellent reviews. They will train me until I get my license. I have just received my CDL Permit today after passing my Special Requirements, General Knowledge, Combination, & Air Brakes tests. Is anyone aware of a company that will hire me out of this type of school once I receive my CDL? Or should I not attend this school? It seems like there are a lot of companies that require training from them regardless. I am drug free, excellent work history, pretty good driving history (DUI in 2008), clean criminal history other than the DUI in 2008. Thanks everyone, and stay safe even if I don't hear from you.

How many hours is the school.
Western Express hires drivers with a cdl and doesn't matter how they got it.
Labatt Food Service has a hub in Austin and might hire you from that school and put you through their training program.

50 hours. I know that's not near what most are asking for, but I was curious if that would be such a big deal since some want to train you regardless. Also, this school is only $1900. Will I just waste the $1900? Thanks btw.

Seems steep price for 50 hours.
Why not attend a high quality trucking company school?
Western Dairy Transport and FFE (Frozen Food Express) are good choices in Texas.

I smoked pot a couple of weeks ago while in California like an idiot. They do hair follicle tests I believe.
